How to transfer a profiler license from one computer to another?

Transferring a profiler license between computers varies depending on the type of license you have.

Transferring floating license

No additional action required. If you have a floating license, transferring your profiler is straightforward. Simply install the profiler on the new computer. The floating license server automatically manages the license key. It ensures compliance with the licensing limit, without the need for manual intervention.

Transferring seat license

Transferring a seat license involves a few more steps:

  1. To manage your seat license, you must have access to the license dashboard. The URL for the dashboard can be found in your license certificate. If you do not have a license certificate, this indicates that you are not the license administrator and do not have the rights to transfer the license. In this situation, you must contact the license administrator within your organization.

  2. Go to your license dashboard and navigate to the Activated copies section. Here, you'll find a list of all computers where the profiler is currently activated.

  3. Deactivate the profiler copy you wish by clicking Deactivate hyperlink next to the relevant entry. This frees up the license for use on another machine.

  4. After deactivating the license on the old computer, you are free to install and activate the profiler on the new computer.
