hang on startup with IBM JVM

Postby trentgd » Fri Aug 25, 2017 10:17 pm

I'm using the IBM JVM on Windows, and do a simple:

c:\>java "-agentpath:\Program Files\YourKit Java Profiler 2017.02-b63\bin\win64\yjpagent.dll=sampling" -jar c:\trent\bin\demo\SwingSet2.jar

(the SwingSet2.jar is from an old Java SDK)

I'm doing it this way as I want to capture a fully headless snapshot of the run - beginning to end.

It hangs after bringing up the splash screen. I wait about 4 seconds then hit CTRL-C. (I've waited up to 30s before but it doesn't help).

The agent log is:

Re: hang on startup with IBM JVM

Postby Anton Katilin » Mon Aug 28, 2017 6:24 am

Hi,

We tried several different IBM JVMs with SwingSet2.jar and do not observe the problem.

What is the full output of corresponding "java -version"? It seems we don't have exactly the JVM version you used.

Can you share (send download links to support@yourkit.com) the jar file you're using and the JRE itself.

Please try the following startup options:

"" (empty, no sampling)
"disableall"
"disableall,sampling"
"disableall,sampling,delay=10000"

Best regards,
Anton
