.NET profiler causing my Win2K app to hang using 100% CPU

Post by Alan »

Hello,
I have a .net app that is runs on Win2K, WinXP and also Win7. I am trying to determine why it runs slower in places in Win7 than it did on Win2K. I have profiled a section of it running on Win7 and am trying to do the same for Win2k, but after starting the profiler my app hangs (100% CPU used). If I stop the profiler and then start my app it runs to completion. The profiler I installed is "YourKit-Profiler-4.0.9-for-.NET.exe". My questions:
  • Is the .net profiler supported for Win2K?
What information can I gather to help you figure out what is happening?
Is there a newer version that I should be using?
Thanks,
Alan

Hi Alan

Sorry, version 4.0.x support has ended years ago.

The newest version 2013 does not work on Windows 2000, it requires at least Windows XP.

If you have an active support period, please contact [email protected]. We'll send you download links to old versions released after 4.0.x which probably will work better on that OS. This is the only thing we can do for you.

Best regards,
Anton
