Profiling WebDev.WebServer.exe

Post by colinbo »

Hey folks,

I just upgrade to 4.x (and today the 4.1 build 510) and found that there is no obvious way to profile ASP.NET webdev.webserver.exe-based applications. I don't have IIS installed on my dev machine because most of my projects do not require it yet I want to profile it. Under Red Gate ANTS I was able to see a Profile ASP.NET Web Server application and enter the details to launch webdev.webserver.exe. Any thoughts on how I can achieve the same with the latest builds of YourKit?

Thanks,
Colin

You just need to enable profiling on "Welcome" screen and start (re-start) webserver.exe. You'll see webserver.exe process in "Monitor Location Applications".
