Unable to enumerate Java directory contents.

Post by scottmac »

I installed YourKit on my Mac running OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) into the Applications folder. When I try to run it by clicking on it in Applications, I get the error message, "Unable to enumerate Java directory contents." This also happens when I try to launch it using the Eclipse plugin.

I can run it by navigating to /Applications/YourKit_Java_Profiler_2013_build_13076.app/bin and running yjp.sh.

I have Java 7, update 51, installed in /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines and Java 6, update 65, in /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines. The Java 7 installation is the one used by default.

I've searched for this problem but couldn't find any information. Can anyone help me out here?

It's a new issue.

Have you followed the instructions suggested at the download page?
http://www.yourkit.com/download/mountain_lion.html

Could you please try downloading and using the bundle for "OS X Tiger (10.4) - OS X Snow Leopard (10.6)" instead:
http://www.yourkit.com/download

Does it work for you?

I had followed the instructions on that page.

The version for OS X Tiger - OS X Snow Leopard works for me.

Hi,

We cannot reproduce the problem. The profiler starts just fine after being copied to the Applications folder, as well as from other places like Desktop.

Perhaps the downloaded application has corrupted for some reason.
How did you unpack the downloaded ZIP?
Could you please check the size of the files on disk:
du -hs /Applications/YourKit_Java_Profiler_2013_build_13076.app

Is the problem reproducible with the EAP build?

Best regards,
Anton
