JVMTI fails on Mac OS X 10.4 / JDK 1.5 with 4.0.8

The error produced is:

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not find Agent_OnLoad function in the agent library: yjpagent
Trace/BPT trap

One problem (missing function) may be YourKit; the trap issue looks like a bug in Apple's JVM.

There is no JVMTI agent for Mac OS X 10.4 yet. We are working hard on it. I think that early access version of JVMTI agent will be available soon (in one or two weeks). Stay tuned, subscribe to RSS news http://www.yourkit.com/rss.xml
